Doubts loom over eurozone recovery

By Michael Steen, Frankfurt

Sources from : http://edition.cnn.com/2013/02/21/business/eurozone-recovery-doubts/index.html

Summary: France has generally the second-biggest eurozone economy. However, the hopes of a eurozone recovery slowed down and failed because of the collapse of France economy. France economy hit its lowest in nearly four years, prompting fears that Paris was struck in a "downward spiral". In order to save the eurozone economy and to help France recover their collapse, the eurozone discussed to solve the problems. What the eurozone came up for the solution is to increase calls for a further interest rate cut for the French government.

Opinion: I think the eurozone came up with a wise decision for France. If the interest rate decreases, then the amount of money that France government have to pay back to the eurozone would be less. Also, it would be easier for France to pay back. I hope France would recover the economy well so that eurozone would flourish again like the last time.

Obama aims small on infrastructure

By Fareed Zakaria

http://globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com/2013/02/13/obama-aims-small-on-infrastructure/

Summary: President Obama's State of the Union address presented his vision of smart government to create jobs and revive the economy. However, he lowered the value of infrastructure spending. He just spent $50 billion dollars for repairing the bridges that were fallen down nationwide, despite American Society of Civil Engineers concluded that $2.2 trillion should be spent over five years to bring the  infrastructure systems up to grade.

Opinion: President Obama's spending on infrastructure is classified as the macroeconomics. He carefully decided how to spend, but it  is just a band-aid on American's growing cancer of failing infrastructure. There are too many public establishments that should be spent to be repaired. However, i think President Obama is putting less budgets on it. Since infrastructure are used by every citizens in the nation and it is necessary for all of them, it is the first problems to be solved. I hope President Obama would distribute money fairly to infrastructure so that the people living in the United States would not have any difficulties of using the infrastructures.
